In an effort to get my house back(!), i’m having a clear out of duplicates and some books i’ll never use again, plus some of the weird and wonderful origami “things” I’ve picked up over the years. It’s also the sole site for Hans Werner Guth’s superb wooden folding tools.
Feel free to pick up a bargain!
In order to tie my various social media accounts together, I’ve moved to a new URL – www.nickorigami.com – links to the origami.me.uk site should redirect seamlessly, but I suggest altering any bookmarks or links, if you have the time….
Not many people know that Tomoko Fuse draws much of her inspiration from Cadbury’s chocolate. Curly Wurlys and Twirls led her to develop her range of twisted origami. Her classic “jointed lizard” was conceived whilst consuming a bar of Old Jamaica. Creme Eggs led to many of her octahedral designs. Her caterpillar was developed whilst high on a 6 pack of Dipped Flake.
In recognition of this unique symbiosis of chocolate and paper-folding, Cadburys released a special bar named in her honour, made to her exacting specifications.
My first proper self-published project is taking shape (at last!) – how to teaching the basics of paper-folding plus an accompanying “Folding For Fun” booklet with 30 designs. I hope to be launching it on Kickstarter in a while. I’m considering “Origami – a Teacher’s Guide” or “A teacher’s guide to Origami” – any thoughts or suggestions?
This Thursday (May 28 2020) I’ll be making a live streaming video for the BOS – please watch live or later on 😉
I will be teaching this model of mine, “My Heart Reaches Out To You”, taken from a collection by the late Dave Petty.
Finally completed the photographs for my next NuiNui book – looking good!

Here I show how to turn an empty tetra-pack into a practical purse, as well as how to fold the packs to save space in your recycle bin.
Two of my designs feature on an origami app created by Andreas Bauer – my “bookmark” and “plane”. I now just have sit and watch the royalty cheques come flooding in!
Paper-folders with long memories will remember Philip Noble, inventor of the “flexi-cube”. I spent a few days with him in Scotland and have kept in intermittent touch over the years.
I was delighted when he launched a website, celebrating a few of his many interest, including string games and bubbles! Check it out, lots to see and do 😉
Joan Sallas has designed a mask using napkins and is folding them for local hospital workers. The Spanish government has requisitioned all the masks from hospitals in Catalonia and sent them to Madrid (one of the many shocking ways the Catalan people are being oppressed).
