Some time ago, I supplied some Halloween-themed models for a Dover project. A few years later, out of the blue, I had an offer to do a full book on the subject. An intriguing challenge and one that allowed me to promote the work of my fellow folders once again, as well as generate a fair amount of the contents myself.
Working with Dover was a pleasant and professional experience – they were keen to get a high quality product and allowed me not only to supply the photography, but also the page layouts (a lot of extra work, but work that I was delighted to undertake since it allowed me greater control). I started to use shading within the diagrams, which mostly worked out (although one step is infuriatingly dark!), although any such fine colour detail can be lost if the publishers decide to recolour diagrams – thankfully, they didn’t on this occasion!
The book is colourful and the page size is generous, so you can actually see the finer details of the folding sequences.
