The theme behind this book is that of recycling folding material. I’ve suggested (and used) material including crisp bags, paper plates, bus tickets, chopsticks wrappers, business cards, napkins and various rectangles. The possibilities are endless and you should get a lot of inspiration for finding free sources of origami raw material.
A fortuitously-timed trip to new York gave me plenty of opportunity to pick up some examples for photography. As with several recent books, I’ve also supplied all photographs for this book.
I was particularly pleased with the wonderful and quirky “Roast Chicken”, which was made from a “cheese snips” multi-pack (see bottom left of the cover). The “Printers Hat” was made with a newspaper found in a supermarket in Allentown, PA, where I was guest of Mark Kennedy.
