This epic is published by NuiNui, with whom I have a great working relationship and who take great pride in their visual presentation. As you can imagine, it’s a selection of fish, each with excellent colour photos taken by a Sheffield-based expert, plus a (privately accessible at youtube) video of how to make each model, lovingly made in my bedroom, sorry, “studio”;)
As ever, the shortness of deadline and difficulty in getting permission to use some designs has spurred me into creating several new models for the book. There’s a diverse range of models, from super simple to Lang & Limet’s challenging designs. The books both look and smell wonderful, probably the best looking books I’ve ever been involved with.
The package includes the usual selection of custom-designed patterned paper, of a perfect quality for these models – thin, yet strong. I’m hoping this will find its way into English before too long, an arrangement is in plaice. The model names have been translated, but I mustn’t carp about that.
The book has been translated back to English & re-published by Tuttle, who have drastically reduced the page size and included it in a box. They re-titled it “Origami Fish and Other Sea Creatures Kit
