A modestly titled offering (to follow the “World’s Biggest Book of Origami”) but then authors rarely get to choose their own title. The best of anything is usually a matter of personal taste, so I’ll just say that I chose models I hope people will enjoy folding, then added a few of my own. It is a 320 page softback book (the largest page count of any book I’ve ever written) and published by Alpha Press (through Penguin books), ISBN 1615640533.
I’ve divided the contents into themed chapters with 5 indicated complexity levels, so there should be something to challenge most folders. As expected, there’s an intro chapter of techniques, 3rd / 5th divisions, creating 60° angles, creating polygons and so forth. The cover features a pair of my dolphins, beautifully folded by Joseph Wu. The contents have been proofed by myself, Anne LaVin (a million blessings on her head) and also a technical folder within Penguin, so ought to be free of niggles!
There are so many reviews popping up, I’ve set up a facebook page www.facebook.com/worldsbestorigami for the book, complete with shed-loads of photos – you can add your own! Tavin has made a nice review (half way through) on youtube.
My eternal gratitude to the creative folders who allowed me to include their work within the book. If it wasn’t for their generosity, origami books would be thin on the ground (and the shelf).
So what is inside? Take a deep breath…
