Cranes for Ukraine

To demonstrate their solidarity with the people of Ukraine and what can be achieved when communities come together, North Tyneside Art Studio will be making 10,000 yellow and blue Origami Cranes for a visually stunning installation at The Bridge Gallery at Tynemouth Station. In Origami, paper cranes are hugely symbolic representing peace and hope; the large wings are said to offer protection to those in need. A perfect symbol in a time of war.

So, I volunteered and started my 50 cranes today.

To hit the 10,000 Cranes target they need your help! From acting as Crane Collection points, asking staff and volunteers to get involved or hosting Crane Making Workshops they want to involve people and communities from across North Tyneside. Every Crane will make a difference and will end up a part of this amazing community project.
